Caring for the Environment

The life of a touring musician in the UK has always been a pretty un-ecological activity in the past. Travelling long distances to gigs and returning home in multiple cars full of gear is standard fare for UK touring musicians and increasingly we all have to try hard to reduce our environmental footprint.

As rural dwellers The Pocket Choral Society is aware of the fundamental importance of keeping our land green and pleasant so we promise to;

  1. Minimise mileage by travelling in one car whenever possible (most of the time and especially on distance gigs/tours).
  2. Doubling up (or more) our distance gigs to maximise the fuel (and cost) of travelling.
  3. Working with our Rural Touring programming partners to make our touring more efficient.
  4. Calculating our carbon footprint with the Julie’s Bicycle calculator and planting trees to offset our carbon footprint each year.
